Biography

I am the founder and managing solicitor of Eyitayo F. Dada Law Professional Corporation, serving clients in the Greater Toronto Area and internationally. Our women-led firm provides clear, sound legal advice and advocacy in Health Law, Family Law, Real Estate Law, and Immigration Law, ensuring all clients feel respected and heard. 

My goal is to provide excellent legal services, advocating for clients’ rights and ensuring the law works to their advantage. I am dedicated to representing vulnerable individuals, particularly those with mental health issues and limited means, and supporting newcomers to Canada. I strive to foster a positive, growth-oriented work environment for my staff and offer mentorship to new lawyers.

Background and Achievements

  • Education: Graduated with honors in 1984 from the University of Ife. Called to the Nigerian Bar in 1985. Earned a Master’s degree in Petroleum and Environmental Law in 1997.
  • Professional Experience: Worked as a lawyer and legal consultant in Nigeria, organizing and lecturing for major corporations such as the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation and Shell Petroleum Development Company Ltd.
  • Canadian Practice: Admitted as a Legal Practitioner to the Law Society of Ontario in 2011. Certified Specialist in Health Law with a focus on Mental Health Law and practice before the Consent and Capacity Board. Also practices in Family, Immigration, and Real Estate Law.
  • Advocacy and Leadership: Practiced in the Niger Delta for over fifteen years, advocating for women’s rights. Represented organizations at international conferences, including the UN World Conference Against Racism in 2001 and led a delegation to the UN in Geneva. Named one of the “100 Black Women to Watch in Canada” in 2016.

By the grace of God, I have built a successful practice and am committed to supporting the next generation of lawyers. I have extensive experience in Health Law, developed Continuing Professional Development programs for various legal associations, and mentored many legal professionals. I continue to play a significant role in social justice and the international human rights movement.
